During this Christmas season, please give to Alpha Sigma

During this Christmas season, please give to Alpha SigmaIn this season of giving, please remember your brothers at Kappa Alpha Order.

Thanks to Alpha Sigma Chapter, you learned about the seven principles of reverence, gentility, service, leadership, knowledge, perseverance and excellence. With a gift this Christmas season, you’ll be helping other young men discover these great principles – ones that no doubt had an important influence on your life.

When you contribute to the Alpha Sigma Alumni Association, you’re helping to maintain the house we still call home and fund undergraduate programs that changed our lives for the better.

Kappa Alpha Order Alpha Sigma Chapter has given so much to so many. Please help us continue to do so.

What Did KA Teach You About Leadership?

Apparently, quite a bit. According to our database, more than 100 of our living alumni are serving or have served as CEO, president, or high-level executives at their firms.

On leadership and the KA connection William Toole '78 says "I learned how to Listen, deliberately entertain others opinions, ask for help, listen, honesty, fair, listen, be prepared to accept the consequences when you are wrong, and give others credit for work well done."

Read on for a list of CEOs and presidents among Alpha Sigma alumni, as recorded in our database.

No. 2 Takes Chapter to New Heights

Though he’s only been a KA brother for a little over two years, Shane Laufer has already done so much for this house. Shane was recently elected Number 2 late last semester and looks to bring this chapter to new heights.

“One thing that this fraternity values, which sounds cliché, but would be our brotherhood,” he said. “Everyone in the chapter hangs out with each other, no matter what year you are.”

Alumni Profiles

Bob DeFoor '91

Why did you join Kappa Alpha as an undergraduate?
When I came down from Kentucky to start college at Georgia Tech, I didn’t know many students ahead of time. Several of my father’s friends were KA’s in our town and had written letters of recommendation for me so I went by the House during Rush Week. My initial plan was to defer joining a fraternity until after I had been in school for a while (not knowing how difficult the classes would be), but I met a couple of Brothers from Kentucky, Rick Muse and Jeff Cunningham, on the first night and felt very comfortable with everyone.

Brothers, I am writing in good spirits. Three years ago, the active chapter started a philanthropy to benefit a former EC's daughter who suffers from a rare disease known as Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Please read below about Krissy and our efforts to support.
