Keeping KA in the Family


Keeping KA in the FamilyWe all have strong brotherhood connections. But few of us can also call our fathers (or our sons) our “brothers”. Current undergraduate Joey Riordan (PC ’13) followed in his dad’s footsteps to join the Alpha Sigma Chapter, in addition to their shared experience with the Navy.

Giving Back: KA Raises Funds and Appreciation for Campus Security Guard

Kudos to active brother Conor Lange who organized a fundraiser for a security guard at Georgia Tech's Scheller College of Business in appreciation of the work he does on their behalf. Conor coordinated a group of students and presented the security guard with a card and $1,600 that was raised.

Why did you join Kappa Alpha as an undergraduate?
When I came down from Kentucky to start college at Georgia Tech, I didn’t know many students ahead of time. Several of my father’s friends were KA’s in our town and had written letters of recommendation for me so I went by the House during Rush Week. My initial plan was to defer joining a fraternity until after I had been in school for a while (not knowing how difficult the classes would be), but I met a couple of Brothers from Kentucky, Rick Muse and Jeff Cunningham, on the first night and felt very comfortable with everyone.
